Design is my passion.

As an upcoming graduate of the Adult Education and Human Resource Development (AHRD) graduate program at JMU, I love designing and developing instruction and user experiences. With my background in art, design, and education, I aim to produce instruction grounded in theory and guided by the ADDIE model, yet endlessly engaging. Regardless of the content, learning can, and should, always be interactive, relevant, and a positive experience for all learners, both children and adults.

With my B.F.A., teaching license, and soon my M.S.Ed (May, 2013), coupled with real world teaching and design experience, I feel equipped to begin my instructional design career and embrace new job opportunities. My diverse background and software expertise enables me to envision solutions to instructional design problems that are technologically and creatively feasible and communicate effectively with the various professionals who develop instructional products.

My strong writing and research skills strengthen the deliverables I produce. I conduct thorough, systematic needs assessments and program evaluations, have provided consultations, and have designed creative, effective, and dynamic theory-based curricula.

When not working, I can be found either working on an art project or playing Frisbee with my puppy, Madison.  I also love exploring the many cultural festivities and events that Harrisonburg has to offer.  It's been a privilege to live in such a diverse community.  Spending quality time with friends and family is also a priority of mine.

Who I am.
